For kort tid siden slapp svenske Carlstad Crusaders en pressemelding der de opplyser at de nettopp har signert den norske landslagsspilleren Leo Krafft fra Eidsvoll 1814s.
Leo, som begynte sin karriere i Hamar Ruins allerede som 11-åring, har allerede rukket å opparbeide seg en solid CV som fotballspiller i løpet av sine 21 første leveår. Etter flere år i Hamar Ruins reiste han som 16-åring over til Texas for å spille 1 år på High School for Lehman Lobos. Karrieren fortsatte så videre i Eidsvoll 1814s, der han de siste årene har markert seg som en solid spiller på Eidsvoll sin defensive linje. Prestasjonene der ledet så videre til seniorlandslaget der han ble tatt ut allerede som 19-åring.
Leo har markert seg med sin ekstreme fysikk, der han med sine 115 kg fordelt på 194 cm utvilsomt vil bidra i Carlstad Crusaders’ satsing mot Europa i NEFL (Northern European Football League) i tillegg til nytt hjemlig nasjonalt mesterskap. Crusaders bekrefter at han skal være med på første kampen i NEFL som spilles førstkommende lørdag 1.april mot Copenhagen Towers i København.
I en kommentar til Amfotball.com uttaler tidligere hovedtrener i Eidsvoll 1814s, Greg Kleidon, følgende:
«I am extremely proud of Leo for following his dreams and his passion to play football at the highest level possible. This is a big step up. The Swedish league is extremely competitive and the Crusaders have a huge game schedule when you add the Northern European League in the mix, so he is going to have the chance to really push himself in a way he hasn’t been pushed before. The Crusaders are a fantastic club with an amazing staff and they really do things right there. This is a great opportunity for him to continue his journey, and for him to really learn a lot. He’s going to get the chance to grow his football knowledge and I couldn’t be happier for him. Leo is a special talent and I think he needs the type of system he will have in Karlstad to really reach his full potential. I’m excited to follow him and watch him grow through this experience. »
